EE 492 Schedule

 

Description

Deadline

1

(Special Case) Declaration of Advisor or Project Topic Change: Students who change their E492 advisor or project topic should submit their new proposal before the deadline.

 

Notes:

  • Only the students with special cases can apply. 

  • Special cases:

    • Graded FF for EE 492 in the previous semester

    • Advisor is on leave or left exceptionally

  • The students who do not fall in these cases can skip this step. 

  • Submissions after the deadline are not accepted.

  • For the students who received FF and do not want to continue with his/her previous advisor, their advisor will be assigned by the department.

2nd week

Friday 17.00

Progress report: Students should prepare a progress report in the formal report format required by the department and submit the report before the deadline.

 

Notes:

  • Submissions after the deadline are not accepted and the students who miss the deadline are graded with FF.

7th week Friday 17.00

Incomplete projects: The students who cannot complete the project successfully can declare their situation before the deadline and ask for an I (Incomplete) grade to gain extra time. The project report submission and presentation of the I grade are in the first week of the following semester.

 

Notes:

  • The students who do not declare their situation and do not ask for I grade have to submit a project report and defend their project. 

  • Submissions after the deadline are not accepted.

13th week Friday 17.00

Project report (First Submission): Students should prepare a project report that explains the details of the project steps and results in the formal report format of the department and submit the report before the deadline. At this stage, the submitted report is evaluated in terms of the format requirements and the student will be graded with PASS or FAIL.

 

Notes

  • Submissions after the deadline are not accepted and the students who miss the deadline are graded with FF.

  • All questions related to the content should be asked to the advisor of the project report. The questions related to the content of the report won’t be answered by research assistants.

  • After this stage students will not be graded with I(Incomplete).

13th week Friday 17.00

Feedback to First Submission: The successfully submitted reports are evaluated and feedback e-mails will be sent to the students before the deadline. The students graded FAIL should update and correct their report according to the formal report format requirements of the department and submit the report before the next deadline.

 

Notes

  • Note that there won’t be any other feedback e-mails.

14th week Tuesday 23.59

Project report (Final Submission): Students should submit the updated and corrected project reports before the deadline.

 

Notes

  • Submissions after the deadline are not accepted and the students who miss the deadline are graded with FF.

  • The students who do not update and correct their report according to the formal report format requirements of the department are graded with FF.

  • Note that this stage is the final submission stage, there won’t be any other feedback.

  • Most importantly if the submitted report fails again in terms of format, the student is graded with FF.

14th week Friday 17.00

Project presentations: Students should prepare a presentation in the format of the provided template (.pptx) and defend their project to the faculty members. The presentations should be uploaded before the deadline.

 

Presentation guideline:

  • Should be 20 minutes.

  • Should be prepared in the format of the provided template.

  • Prepared presentations should be uploaded before the deadline.

  • Will be face to face and the locations will be announced before the last day.

  • Final letter grade will be given considering

    • report, 

    • presentation,

    • content,

    • complexity.

 

Notes

  • Submissions after the deadline are not accepted and the students that miss the deadline are graded with FF.

  • The presentation time should not exceed 20 minutes, otherwise the final grade from the presentation will be low.

  • !!!Warning!!! At this stage, students won’t be graded with I grade. If a student is not ready for defense or presents poorly, he/she will be graded with FF.

Poster Presentations: a poster should be prepared and uploaded to complete the lecture.
