Ph.D. Qualifier Exam

 Exam Procedure

 ● The exam has two parts: a written exam and an oral exam.

 ● The written exam will take place on the 19th of February 2024 at 10:00 AM in the EE meeting room on the third floor.

 ● The written exam comprises two main parts: EE Fundamentals and Area Fundamentals. There will be 14 questions in 7 areas. These areas are Communications, Control Systems, Circuits and Systems, Electronics, Electromagnetics, Power and Energy, and Signal Processing.

 ● Ph.D. candidates have to solve 2 of the EE Fundamentals question set and 3 of the Area Fundamentals question set, five questions in total.

● Ph.D. candidates who get graded 70 out of 100 pass the written exam and can enter the oral exam.

 ● The Exam Committee will carry on the oral exam with five members, including the advisor of the Ph.D. candidate. Each Committee Member will ask two questions.

 ● Ph.D. candidates must get 70 out of 100 to pass the Oral exam.

 ● The D2 form, which identifies the Exam Committee Members, must be submitted to GSNAS (FBE in Turkish) 

 ● In case the Ph.D. candidate passes the written exam but fails the oral exam, the Ph.D. candidate does not have to enter the written exam again and should only take the oral exam in the next semester.

 ● Oral exam grade (Form D3) should be submitted to GSNAS (FBE) before the 22nd of February 2024 at 16:00.
