Course Objectives: 
The goal of this course is to acquire the ability to identify the requirements for reduction of the environmental impacts of buildings in terms of energy, water, material, internai air and construction practice and for design of buildings to comply with green building certification systems and to find out and summarise the recent applications in the field of sustainable construction.
Course Content: 

Sustainability and green building definitions; Land use for sustainable buildings; Measures for reduction of energy consumption and carbon emissions and use of green energy technologies for buildings; Reduction of water and wastewater in buildings; Measures for reduction of material consumption and solid waste in building construction; Enhancement of indoor air quality in sustainable buildings; Commissioning of sustainable buildings; Principles of building life cycle analysis and life cycle cost analysis; Green building certification systems; Integrated design approach and project management issues in sustainable building design;  Introduction to sustainable cities.
