Course Objectives: 
The aim of this course is to introduce technical drawings and their use in civil engineering to students, enabling them to read and analyze project drawings and to design and/or revise 2- and 3D technical drawings by using related CAD software.
Course Content: 

Introduction to technical drawing, lines, linetypes and their use, basics of CAD and related software. Technical drawings in architecture and civil engineering, CAD interface and drawing commands. Preparation of 2D technical drawings, construction lines and their use, related commands. Editing commands and their use. Hatches, CAD file format, layers and their use. Application of text, list and dimension commands. Merging of architectural and statical CAD files, blocks, properties, x-blocks. Plotting of technical drawings, scaling and titling. Importing and exporting in different file formats. 3D modeling: Terminology, basic modeling techniques, plotting cross sections. Advanced commands and use of CAD for different engineering purposes.
