Course Objectives: 
The goal of this course is to provide students analysis and design of steel structures and basic understanding of the behavior of steel structural systems under the horizontal loads.
Course Content: 

Introduction; classification of structures and connections; design loads and design philosophy; steel  structural systems; design for lateral loads; bracings; earthquake resistance; roof trusses; single storey buildings; industrial buildings; multi storey buildings; connections; introduction to plastic design of steel structures.
