Course Objectives:

To improve the skills about, land survey, topographic survey and application. To improve the skills about map use, evaluation on the maps.

Course Content:

Content	Measurement units and scale. Sources of measurement errors, horizontal distance measurement. Horizontal and vertical angle measurements. Geodesic basic task, bearing. Open and closed traverse, coordinate computation. Height measurements, Geometric and trigonometric levelling and computation. Profiles and cross sections. Area and volume computation. Geographic information systems.
Contribution of the Course to the Professional Education	Maps have great importance in Civil Engineering Education at University. Receiving information from the maps and coordination data production contributing to both academic and vocational development of the students are two main objectives in this course.
