Course Objectives: 
- Basic knowledge of the structure, properties, processing, and performance of various classes of engineering materials - Understanding of the behavior of materials from a knowledge of their structure

Atomic Bonding, Crystalline Structure, Crystal Defects and Noncrystalline Structure, Diffusion, Mechanical Behavior, Thermal Behavior, Failure Analysis and Prevention, Phase Diagrams, Kinetics-Heat Treatment, Structural Materials (Metals, Ceramics, Glasses, Polymers and Composites)
