Course Objectives:

In this course, modelling and simulation of phase diagrams together with diffusional and precipitation processes will be introduced. Foundation of the CALculation of PHAse Diagrams (CALPHAD) methodology will be explained.

Course Content:

Calculation of the phase stability diagrams as a function of equilibrium thermodynamic variables such as temperature, pressure and constituent composition of common materials. Utilisation of ThermoCalc software for calculation of equilibrium thermodynamic properties of binary and ternary systems.
