Education goals of the Masters Program
The aim of the masters program is to raise graduates who could participate in research and development in the field of materials science and nanotechnology engineering: designing, producing materials, nanomaterials. The gradutes will be able to follow doctoral programs and participate in research in the field of materials science and nanotechnology engineering.
The aim of our program is to provide a more advanced program compared to available similar programs in the nation. Thus, our undergradute program has experience and the program has been accepting students since the 2016-2017 education year fall semester.
Application And Admission To Master Of Science Program
The following requirements must be fulfilled while applying for the masters program:
- Having a bachelor’s degree.
- Having graduated from a reputable enginering or chemistry, physics and biology department from one of the nation’s universities or from college which is abroad. The foreign degree must be matching the standards defined by the Higher Education council of Turkey.
- Having obtained 55 degree points from the ALES examination. This condition is not required for the non-thesis masters program.
- Having sufficient knowledge of English.
Graduates of departments of Material Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Textile Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Chemistry, Physics and Biology are eligible to apply for the Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering Masters program provided that the gradutes have sufficient levels of english and the acceptance results will be based on departmental interviews.
The aim of the graduate program is to deliver knowledge and skills to the students regarding researching materials science, advanced materials, nanotechnology and nanomaterials. Our graduate program has been established because of the fact that there is serious need for raising great engineering skills and talents in the field of materials science and nanotechnology engineering in our nation and therefore the research and development projects which are funded by the government and the private sectors could be completed successfully.
In our gradute program, research in the fields of nanotechnology, materials science and nanotechnoloy, nanomaterials, glass and ceramic materials, polymeric materials, composite materials, bio-materials and implant materials, surface technologies, functional surfaces and materials, sol-gel nanotechnology, optical and photonic materials and thin films is being carried out by our departmental faculty members.
Master of Science Program Description
In our masters program, research is being done and courses are being taught by our faculty members in the fields of Metalurgical and Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering, Ceramic meterials, metalic materials, polymeric materials, composite materials, biomaterials, nanomaterials, glass and optical materials, photonic materials, functional thin films and coatings, sol-gel technology, surface science and technology.
