Course Objectives: 
In this course, students will be introduced to the general concepts of Materials Science and Nanotechnology Engineering and to the areas of the discipline. Process, structure, property, and performance tetrahedron will be shown. Metallic materials and alloys, ceramic materials, polymeric and composite materials will be visited with the emphasis on nanostructuring.
Course Content: 
Introduction to Materials Science and Engineering. Wider view on materials selection with special emphasis on property and performance relationship through process and structure control for engineering materials. Introduction to metallic, ceramic, polymeric and composite materials and their properties together with the effects of nanosizing.
