Course Objectives: 
This course serves as an introduction to material characterization. Information will be given regarding material characterization tools such as spectroscopy and mathematical tools will be presented leading towards understanding and analyzing materials in great detail.
Course Content: 

UV-VIS Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman Spectroscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS), Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA).
