What is Genetics and Bioengineering?
Genetics and bioengineering undergraduate programme with a unique combined vision of genetics and bioengineering applications aims to raise Gene Engineers and Bioengineers who have fundamental and technical knowledge of genetics, bioengineering, and biotechnology, who provide novel and innovative solutions, who acquires leadership role in domestic and abroad academia, industry, and government agencies as leading individuals in application, and who are aware of ethical and professional responsibilities.
Genetics and bioengineering programme guides the students to become spirited leader so as to provide resolutions and competitiveness in international platforms in academia, industry (pharmaceutical, agriculture, food, biomedical etc.), clinical medicine and diagnose centers, governmental institutions and national/international research centers, stem cell and gene therapy centers and laboratories by educating them with gene, protein, tissue engineering, and bioengineering knowledge provided as a part of departmental curriculum and donating them with proficiency in fields like molecular biology and genetics, bioinformatics, protein chemistry and protein engineering, stem cell technologies, nanobiotechnology, tissue engineering, biomaterials, and systems biology.
As a part of genetics and bioengineering programme, there are five student laboratories, fiftyfive research laboratories, and fifty service analysis laboratories. These are mainly molecular diagnostic lab, plant biotechnology lab, nanobiotechnology lab, immunology lab, tissue engineering lab, neurosciences lab, proteomics and mass spectrometry lab, fermentation and bioprocess lab, microbial genetics lab, functional genetics lab, tissue culture lab, regenerative biology lab, instrumental analysis lab, imaging lab, bioinformatics and systems biology lab, anaerobic lab and molecular cell biology lab.
