Course Objectives:

This course goals to learn antenna and propagation-engineering concepts including in-depth studies of various antennas, antenna arrays, computer modeling of antennas for analysis and design in different propagation media.

Course Content:

Electromagnetic review, Auxiliary potential functions, Hertz dipole in simple and dispersive media, Antenna parameters, Long dipoles, Antenna Arrays, Propagation, Selection of communication paths, Applications of antennas and propagation subjects in different fields (Medicine, Geophysics, Astronomy etc.))

1	Reviewing about the historical and social effects of the Antennas and Propagation engineering practices on health, communication systems. co mmunica environment, and safety, and contemporary issues of the century reflected into the field of engineering; awareness of the legal consequences of engineering solutions.
2	Review of dispersive medium parameters, antenna theory, radiation integrals, energy theorems, duality, reciprocity, principle of equivalency, modeling.
3	Fundamental parameters of antennas.
4	Linear wire antennas.
5	Antenna arrays.
6	Reflector antennas.
7	Broadband antennas.
8	Frequency independent antennas.
9	Microwave antennas; Aperture, microstrip and horn antennas.
10	Optoelectronically fed antennas, lens antennas, SAR antennas.
11	Wave propagation theory and introduction to antennas and propagation for wireless communication systems.
12	The principles of choosing of communication ways.
13	Antennas and Propagation applications in different areas (Medicine, Geophysics, Astronomy, etc.)
