The aim of this course is to introduce the students the theory of control systems and the application infrastructure of this theory in simulation environment. This course will provide students with the fundamentals of linear dynamic systems, modeling and control principles. In addition, the aim of this course is to give details of first and second order systems, transient and steady state responses, performance measures, stability analysis and steady state errors. Students will also be taught how to use root locus techniques in design of PID and compensators. Introduction to frequency response techniques including Bode diagrams and Nyquist plots and their use in stability analysis will be covered.
