Course Objectives:
To prepare the prospective civil engineer to the concepts of organization of the construction sites as a production line towards physical construction of a certain structıre that has been designed; introducing all relevant disciplines and alternative organizational models for integration of these disciplines, that exist within the complex process of construction; to inroduce the prospective engineer to the fundamental construction technologies involved in site applications and develop understanding of the implications of these technologies in preparation of temporary facilities, site layout and scheduling, and develop conciousness on how occupational safety responsibilities of engineers can influence the engineering decisions technically and ethically.
Course Content:
Planning the site workflow, site organization in constructions, various technics in formwork and reinforced concrete applications, steel and prefabricated concrete applications, human resources, procurement management, contracts management, risk management, sub- contractor management, interim payments, financial issues, permits, responsibilies as per the Occupational Safety Law,prevention of the most frequent types of construction accidents.
