Course Objectives:
The aim of this course is to introduce students the fundamentals of electronics as applied to biomedical instruments.
Course Content:
Fundamental solid-state principles, doping, PN Junction, bias. Diode models and applications, load-line analysis, AND/OR gates, rectifiers and voltage multipliers, clippers clampers and Zener voltage regulators. Bipolar junction transistors (BJT), PNP and NPN types, characteristics, common-emitter, common- base and common-collector configurations, basic biasing circuits and applications. JFET and MOSFET transistors and applications. Noise and circuit analysis and design of circuits with JFET, bipolar Transistor and MOSFET Combination. BJT,FET,MOS networks used at the input of EEG, ECG, EMG instruments in the medical field applications.
