Course Objectives:

The aim of this course is to provide students with a general knowledge of polymer chemistry, polymer processing, and uses of a variety of industrial polymers, their engineering properties and engineering applications.

Course Content:

Introduction to basic principles of polymer chemistry and engineering, the chemical structure and use of a variety of industrial polymers, polymerization mechanisms and kinetics, techniques for molecular and morphological characterization, polymer processing. A variety of engineering properties, engineering applications. Term project.
