The aim of this course is to inform students about the implants and graft materials used in medicine and dentistry.
Course Content:
Definition of medical and dental implant and graft materials, implant-tissue-cell interactions, cytotoxicity and in vivo interactions, tissue reaction, hard tissue implants, metals, ceramics, composites, soft tissue implants, polymers, hydrogels, carbon micro-nanomaterials, sterilization of biomedical and dental materials and production standards.
