Dr. Ahmet Turan
Biography:
Ahmet Turan has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Yalova University since 2015. During 2017-2018 he was a post-doctoral researcher at Heriot-Watt University, Research Centre for Carbon Solutions (RCCS). He received his B.Sc. from Sakarya University in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 2006, and his M.Sc. from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2009. He obtained his Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 2014. From 2006 to 2007, he worked in natural stone industry (Akaray-UK) as a project engineer in London. Between 2007 and 2010, he worked as a researcher at ITU, Metallurgical and Materials Eng. Dpt. in research projects sponsored by private companies. From 2010 to 2015, Ahmet Turan was a lecturer at Yalova University. His research interests span extractive metallurgy, pyrometallurgy, recycling of industrial wastes, sustainable metallurgy, synthesis and sintering of advanced ceramics and CO2 capture. He has more than 120 publications including research articles, short communications, book chapters and conference proceedings.
